My name is Sam McQueen, and I am from Wausau, WI. I am a senior studying History and Japanese here at UW-Madison with certificates in East and Southeast Asian Studies. I am interested in Japanese Buddhism, Southeast Asian women and family, and the Vietnamese-American experience. I came to the Nonviolence Project because education and awareness of successful nonviolent movements promotes effective conflict resolution, especially for young students who act as the bodies of change. Through NVP, students can see the effectiveness of nonviolence through a cross-cultural scope.
